Steve Button

I arrived with my wife, Kathy, in Prescott, January 2020, and immediately began attending and then joining Solid Rock. We left Ventura, California, specifically to spend time with Kathy’s mother, and be available to help her as needed. We have two children, and eight grandchildren, all still living in California.

I have served in full-time Christian ministry since 1973, as youth pastor, choir director, worship leader, Christian school teacher and principal, and pastor (not all at once, although it seemed like it at times). In addition to this, I have been a trumpet soloist, a  piano accompanist, a camp speaker, a composer, and an author (my first book, “The Grace-Filled Life” is due out soon).  I graduated from Los Angeles Baptist College (LABC, now Master’s University) with a B.A. in music. and later from Talbot Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity followed by a Doctor of Ministry from Corbin University. Currently, in addition to teaching a Sunday school class, and now serving as an elder, I substitute teach at Trinity Christian School, serve as a chaplain with Marketplace Chaplains, and volunteer at Dignity Health Yavapai Memorial County Hospital as chaplain and piano player in the foyer.

It has been a joy being a part of Solid Rock, and although retired from full-time ministry, I don’t intend on discontinuing my service for the Lord. I look forward to continuing to serve as the Lord directs in whatever capacity He leads.
