Jerry and Marilyn Loftis grew up together in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Pauls Valley and Prescott were very similar in those days. Both were the county seat of about the same population, surrounded by ranches, and with western attire the norm. Jerry went east to Cornell University and Marilyn went to East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. They were married in 1966 after Marilyn got her Associate Business Degree. She worked at Cornell until Jerry received his Electrical Engineering degree in 1968.
Upon graduation, Jerry worked for General Electric at the Polaris Missile naval facility in South Carolina before spending 10 years with GE in Waynesboro, Virginia. Five years of night school resulted in a Masters of Business Administration from James Madison University. Jerry joined Bell & Howell in the Chicago suburbs as a corporate execute in 1980. Leaving the corporate world in 1995, Jerry and Marilyn were partners in four small businesses before selling their interests and retiring to Prescott in 2002.
Jerry and Marilyn have one son who is married and living in southern California. They thank God that their son and his family are committed to serving the Lord. Jason has a masters degree from Fuller Seminary. After several years in ministry, he is now using his graphic arts skills to develop web sites and promotional materials for primarily Christian ministries. His wife, Dara, teaches High School English. Jason and Dara have one son.
Having both confessed their faith in Jesus at age 9, Jerry and Marilyn have always been active in the churches they attended. Serving as Sunday School teachers and other leadership roles has been the norm. Since moving to Prescott, Jerry and Marilyn have consistently been in teaching and church leadership roles until Jerry became the Business Manager in 2011.
As Business Manger, Jerry does the accounting and many administrative tasks for the church.
